You have access to common laundry facilities at all of our housing
At Glomstuvegen there is free access. At Britvegen and Mekvegen you have to download the app “appWash” by Miele.
On ground level, at the far west of the A-building. Next to the bicycle parking.
At the bottom of the A-building, past Kvamstua.
In the basement, and to the left.

The app can be used at all iOS- and Android-phones. If you have a smartphone that don’t support the app you can use appwash.com - Make an account
Create an account by following the instructions in the app
You need an email address, create a password, and you will be sent a verification code. Make sure you select the correct country code when you register your phone number. - Enter a machine number
All the washing machines at the laundry is marked with a 5-digit number. Enter the number for an available machine. - Fill up your account
Before you get to the registration of a payment card your have to push the “top-up” button. You can at any time fill up your account by going to the “prepaid” section in the menu. Here you can also quit your account and get your money back. - Unlock, pick a program, and start
The app will unlock the machine up to 15 minutes before use. Start a cleaning or dryer cycle as normal. Add your preferred detergent. Swipe to the right at the display panel at the machine to set all the program choices. Pick your preferred program and press start.
When you have created an account in “appWash” you can reserve a washing machine and a dryer 15 minutes before you get to the laundry.
- Pick a machine that is available in the app
- Find the machine you have picked – make sure the number on the machine is the same as the one you picked in the app. The machines are clearly marked with a number. Open the door and put the clothes in.
- Add your preferred detergent. We recommend a liquid one – they make less of a mess!
- Pick your preferred program. Don’t forget that you will find more programs by swiping to the right on the display panel.
- Press start
- Be aware that the app shows the time spent, not the time that’s left.
The app will notify you when the washing or drying cycle is over 😊 How long the cycles are depends on much clothes you have in the machine. The less clothes the quicker the cycle – the machines are sensor controlled.
If you want to start multiple machines at the same time, you just repeat the booking process in the app for every machine you want to start.
A normal machine cycle contains a lot of water. This means that if you hang up your clothes to dry in the apartment, without good ventilation, this can put you at risk for mites and mold in your apartment. Therefore, we recommend that you utilize the tumble dryers as much as possible.
If you have clothes that cannot be put in the dryer, it’s important that you sufficiently ventilate your apartment. And possibly clean up any water spill/drips on the floor so it doesn’t stain or damage the floors.
Using the tumble dryers are free of charge!
We recommend that you use liquid washing detergent since it’s less messy than powdered ones. That being said, make sure you clean up after yourself if you spill or use to much detergent – this makes the laundry a lot nicer for everyone to use!
The most common mistake happen when you are adding your phone number, during the SMS-verification and/or when you are adding your e-mail address. Try one more time!

Integrated in the app there is a chat function. Leave a message there, so that Miele has your contact information and can get back to you quickly. You will receive an answer from them in the afternoon and on the weekends as well.
There might also be trouble with your internet connection, so try one or two times on your cellular network as well.
Use of the laundry machine is 25NOK per wash
