Give 8 minutes – pick up the phone!

Are you one of those who only send messages?

Far more people than before say that they never use the phone to make calls. The biggest change is among those aged 20-24, where, in just five years, there are 18 percent fewer people using the phone to make calls.

Research shows that just 8 minutes on the phone with someone you care about can have a significant effect on both the relationship and mental health. We often underestimate how much it can mean to reach out, even just to check in.

This year’s campaign encourages you to set aside 8 minutes to call someone you care about – every day. Research shows that it does more for our health than we think.

This year, we urge you to pick up the phone and call. Hearing the voice of someone we love does much more for us than we realize.

Who do you call?
