Better Together: a project about substance use and mental health
Do we really know enough about students’ substance use?
What do you, as a student, know about how substances affect your body and your mental health?
Is being a student at a smaller campus like Molde or Kristiansund different from elsewhere in Norway?
These are some of the questions we at SiMolde are wondering about – and that we aim to find answers to. We have been granted NOK 550,000 from the Norwegian Directorate of Health, with the goal of increasing the knowledge base about substance-related challenges in the student environment. We want to explore more answers to the challenges many students face today – such as loneliness, mental health struggles, and the pressure to participate in substance-related social activities. In this project, we will, among others, collaborate with SiVolda (the Student Welfare Organization in Volda), the host municipalities, the police, and Molde University College.

However, the most important partners are the students!
We need students who want to contribute to the project through focus groups, “lunch and learn” sessions, or podcasts. We are looking for input, dilemmas, and questions!
Does this sound like something for you? Your participation will be compensated.
