Here’s how

Participate in as many activities as you like and remember to register your participation here by October 31. You can only register once, so wait until you have completed all your activities.

Ready, set, go – let’s go for Active October!

There are many student associations you can join as a student at Molde University College, and they are constantly organizing activities.

Check the activity calendar to find the exact dates for the various activities in Molde.

Here is an overview of all student associations.

A trip with a historical twist! The “Kongebjørka” tree at Glomstua is a national symbol and a memorial to the German occupation of Norway. King Haakon VII and Crown Prince Olav were photographed here while seeking shelter during the German bombing of Molde, the last weekend in April 1940.

If you haven’t heard of Kringstadnakken yet, you need to check it out. It’s a beautiful hike not far from campus, with a magical view of the Molde panorama. At the lookout point is the famous swing, which is very Instagram-friendly. Did you know that the first swing was hung up by a student employee? You heard it here first. The trail can be wet, so wear good hiking shoes.

You can find the hike description here.

Have a workout or relax in the hot tub!

Students get a very nice student price of NOK. 50. This offer applies every Monday between 16:00-19:30 and every Friday between 13:00-16:00.
Remember to bring a valid student ID when you buy a ticket.

NB: The offer does not apply during school holidays and public holidays.

Liavegen is a beautiful hike right behind the University College. The path is gravelled all the way, making it accessible for walking or cycling. This hike is also marked as a “stikk ut” tour. The easiest starting point for students is at Kvam Elementary School/Anestua Kindergarten.

Kringstadbukta is the local beach. Whether you want to swim or not, take a walk and feel the sound of the waves boost your heart rate. It’s a lovely evening walk, only 15 minutes downhill from the student housing in Britvegen.

It’s 2.5 km from the University College to the Molde Sports Park. Here, you can run as many laps as you can manage or simply walk around the stadium. If you bring some supporters, there is a roofed stand where they can cheer you on.

There are many hiking trails to Storlihytta, but we recommend starting at the Romsdalsmuseet. Storlihytta has an open cafe on Wednesdays and Sundays, where they sell delicious waffles. It’s a short ascent with a beautiful view – definitely worth the trip.
