Ready, set, – go for Active october!

Everyone knows that physical activity is good for your health, but did you know how many positive benefits there actually are? Better mood, increased energy, improved quality of life, reduced stress, and better sleep quality are just some of the benefits.

To give you a little incentive to be more active, we are launching “Active October”. Below you will find 10 different activities that you can do at your own pace throughout October. If you document your activity, you can be entered into a raffle for some great prizes!

How to participate:

On each activity, you will find a QR code with a link to an online form where you can document your activity. The more activities you participate in, the better chance you have of winning great prizes! If the QR code is not available, you can find the link to the form for each activity below.

Ready, set, go – let’s go for Active October!

Right outside the cafeteria, we have our very own disc golf course. You can borrow equipment at the bookstore. Disc golf can be played alone or with others.

Every Thursday in October, there will be organized disc golf with Jacob and Kevan, our student employees, meeting at 3:30-4:30 pm outside the cafeteria. Join us!

A trip with a historical twist! The “Kongebjørka” tree at Glomstua is a national symbol and a memorial to the German occupation of Norway. King Haakon VII and Crown Prince Olav were photographed here while seeking shelter during the German bombing of Molde, the last weekend in April 1940.

If you haven’t heard of Kringstadnakken yet, you need to check it out. It’s a beautiful hike not far from campus, with a magical view of the Molde panorama. At the lookout point is the famous swing, which is very Instagram-friendly. Did you know that the first swing was hung up by a student employee? You heard it here first. The trail can be wet, so wear good hiking shoes. The post is located by the swing.

It’s 2.5 km from the University College to the Molde Sports Park. Here, you can run as many laps as you can manage or simply walk around the stadium. If you bring some supporters, there is a roofed stand where they can cheer you on.

There are many hiking trails to Storlihytta, but we recommend starting at the Romsdalsmuseet. Storlihytta has an open cafe on Wednesdays and Sundays, where they sell delicious waffles. It’s a short ascent with a beautiful view – definitely worth the trip.
