Moving in

Welcome as a tenant! We hope you will enjoy your time with us 😊

The main building at Molde University College, entrance through the bookshop in the middle of the building.

Opening hours: Monday – Friday 09:00-15:00.

Don’t forget ID when you are picking up the key.

Yes, send an email to bolig@simolde.no with your name and room number, as well as the full name of the person picking up the key. They need to bring ID.

You can pick up the key during our opening hours the day your tenancy starts.

If your tenancy starts on the weekend or on any Holiday you can pick up the key the following work day. We can also make other arrangements, send us an email at bolig@simolde.no.

You don’t have to pick up the keys on the day your tenancy starts. If it suits you better you can pick it up later.

If you are picking it up more than 14 days after your tenancy has started you have to notify us so that we know that you are actually coming! Send an email to bolig@simolde.no.

Don’t worry, send us an email at bolig@simolde.no and we’ll find a solution.

Your address in available under §2 in your tenancy agreement, together with your room number.

The room number we use in the housing is called “unit no.” in the tenancy agreement. The first letter in the room number explains which building you are staying in, and the first number which floor. All rooms are clearly marked with your room number. If you are staying in a shared flat the little letter at the end of your room number indicated which room you are staying in. You’ll find the letter in the upper right corner on the doors inside the shared flat.

F202c = F-building, 2nd floor, shared flat 202, room c.

D5a = D-buildig, 5th floor, room a.

You’ll also find your room number on a small metal chip attached to your key.

The furnishing varies a bit in our housing, but almost all of them are furnished with a bed (90×200), wardrobe, desk/table with a chair, a bookcase, and all appliances. There is an overview of the furniture in each and every housing type in the housing ads here. The quartets with shared bathroom in Britvegen is not furnished.

It might be nice to bring:

  • Duvet, pillow, and bed linen
  • Towels and toilet paper
  • Kitchen equipment, pots, and plates
  • Electric things like a coffeemaker, kettle, microwave, etc.
  • Bucket, washing cloths, detergents/soaps, and vacuum cleaner

Contact IT-support at Molde University College.

There’s access to a shared laundry in all our housing. At Glomstuvegen it’s free. In Britvegen and Mekvegen you have to download the app AppWash by Miele.

Read more about the laundries and AppWash here: Vaskeri

Shortly after you have moved in you will receive a move in protocol through your profile at hybel.no. It is important that you fill it our so that you are not responsible for potential damages or small deficits in the housing. If there are bigger damages or deficits that we might have missed when the previous tenant moved out you can notify us directly with a maintenance case. You do this under messages at hybel.no, and someone from the service department will follow up.

Have something happened in your housing? Fridge stopped working? The sink is clogged? A lot of different things can happen in an apartment 😊 To make it easy for the service department to help you, you have to send in what is called a maintenance case. That way the case is connected to you and your room number, and you will easily be able to communicate and check the status on the case.

  1. Log in to your profile at hybel.no
  1. Click on messages in the menu to the left
  1. Click on the conversation you have with us (simolde bolig)
  1. When you have reached the chat you have with us you click on the button placed above where you can write a message that says “+ new maintenance case” (vedlikeholdssak)
  1. Fill in all the fields that come up, and explain the issue as well as you can
  1. Add photos if applicable
  1. Send in

The Service department will follow up on the case and reach out if they have any questions. If there is something you want to add to the case you can write is a comment, and that way easily communicate with the service department.

When you move you have to remember to change you address at posten, and at the same time you have to notify everyone you are expecting mail from. Don’t forget that this has to be done when you move out as well.

Change of address can be done at posten.no

If you change your address at “folkeregisteret” you have to state what is called a “h-number”. You’ll find this under §2 in your tenancy agreement. H-number is not the same as the room numbers we use, but a nationally recognized number all emergency services etc. recognize. If you live on the lower floor, below the ground floor, you have a u-number. H0202, U0202.

The mailboxes at the housing are marked with name and room number. We update the name on the mailboxes at the beginning of each semester. Remember to state your room number when you order things online or your mom wants to send you a care package.

When possible, we do recommend you have your packages delivered at a delivery location/package box.

It’s important to insure your things in case something happens. We recommend all our tenants to insure their private property that’s placed in a storage room or in the housing. We are not responsible for private things/property that are kept in the student housing. This also applies to things kept in the common areas over the holidays or vacations. Building related damages are covered by our insurances.

You can easily order insurance when you sign your agreement with us, and if you have insurance already you can add it before you sign it.

Living with us should be a nice and safe experience!

All tenants must therefore comply with our housing regulations.

We have adapted housing for tenants with disabilities (universal design) in both Britvegen and Mekvegen.

These apartments are prioritized for students with documented need for adapted housing. With a documented need the price will be the same as for a 1-room standard apartment. Se more about the housing type here.

Apply early so that we can make arrangements for your needs together! When you apply, send a message to us via hybel.no, where you mention your need for a universally designed apartment.
