Here you will find the programme for Opening Week, which takes place throughout Week 33. We have planned lots of fun activities with a great variety, so there should be something for everyone. If you purchase a week pass, all activities in the programme are included.
Please note that the programme is subject to change.
We warmly welcome all new students, buddies, and staff to this year’s Opening Ceremony at Bjørnsonhuset.
Time: 11:00 AM
Location: Bjørnsonhuset
Transport: Free buses will depart from Molde Campus starting at 10:15 AM.
After the ceremony, we will head to Molde University College, where you will meet your fellow students and your buddy group for the first time. The programme includes social activities, distribution of T-shirts and week passes, and complimentary refreshments.
In the evening:
The buddy groups will have their own activities before we all gather for a Silent Disco at O’Learys. Enjoy great music and a chance to get to know students from different study programmes and buddy groups.
Free bus transport back to campus at following times: 01.15 AM and 02.30 AM from the busterminal 🚍

Morning run with iRun!
For those who enjoy an active start to the day, Wednesday begins with a social run hosted by the student association iRun. No registration required. There are two distance options:
- 5 km: Approx. 6:10-6:30 min/km pace
- 10 km: Approx. 6:00-6:20 min/km pace
Both routes start and finish at Mellomgulvet (between Blocks D and E on campus). Light refreshments will be served after the run.
Time: 09.50 AM for 10km and 10.10 AM for 5km.
Meeting point: Mellomgulvet (between Blocks D and E on campus)
CITY CHALLENGE
Get to know Molde through fun challenges and activities around the town centre. Along the way, you’ll have the opportunity to meet student associations, local businesses, and other community partners.
Prizes will be awarded to the team that collects the most points!
Time: 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM
Meeting point: The buddies will be informed of where each individual group should meet.
Midsummer Party at Smuget!
Join us for a Midsummer Party at Smuget, the university college’s own student pub! Expect a great atmosphere, late-summer vibes, and a fun evening with fellow students. Limited capacity, so spots will be allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. Entrance on the lower side of the campus building, to the right of the cafeteria.

Introduction Day
This is the day to get to know your study programme better! Check your timetable for information about the time and location of your programme-specific introduction activities.

Wild West Bar Crawl
The bar crawl takes place in Molde town centre in collaboration with local bars and venues. Students with a week pass can participate regardless of age. Please note: A valid ID is required.
This year’s theme is Cowboy, and we encourage buddy groups to dress up together and get into the Wild West spirit! 🤠

Karaoke at Brygga!
After the bar crawl, we’ll gather at Brygga for karaoke. Friday karaoke is a long-standing tradition in the student community, and this is the perfect opportunity to experience one of the students’ favourite social activities.

Volleyball
This is a great opportunity for the buddy groups to show off their volleyball skills. An exciting tournament organized by iVolley is on the schedule, and buns will be served.
The tournament is open to everyone, and no volleyball experience is required. Those who do not wish to play are welcome to cheer on the rest of their buddy group. Remember to bring water and wear comfortable clothing.

Stand-Up Night: White Lies Theme
Welcome to a fun Stand-Up night! Meet Norwegian stand-up comedian “Jonis Josef.”
Everyone writes a funny and harmless “white lie” about themselves on their T-shirt. Throughout the evening, the challenge is for others to figure out what is true and what is made up.
It’s a great way to break the ice, start conversations, and get to know your fellow students in a relaxed and entertaining setting.

Competitions and Games on Campus
Join us for a good old-fashioned beer pong tournament between the buddy groups. Bring your competitive spirit and come along! This is an alcohol-free event.

Coachella Party
Are you ready for some Coachella vibes? Join us for a night of great music, a fantastic atmosphere, and an unforgettable celebration with your fellow students. Grab your festival-inspired outfit and get ready to dance the night away!

Food & Chill the Day After
We’ll round off Opening Week with hot dogs and a great atmosphere at Mellomrommet. It’s the perfect opportunity to relax and spend some extra time with your new friends before classes and student life really get underway. Employees from MFK is having some fun activites!
