Program for the Opening week
To give you the ultimate kick start for the new school year, we have planned a lot of fun activities. There is something for everyone, so make sure you check out the program and start planning what you want to participate in. We recommend that you try to participate in as much as possible!

To make sure your arrival in Molde is as smooth as possible we’ll have a little sneak start for the international students the day before the actual start of the school year.
We’ll start the day with an info meeting, where you’ll meet the other international students, your international coordinators, some of our employees from SiMolde, as well as student employees Amine and Kevan. You will also get a tour of HiMolde.
After the general meeting and lunch, you’ll be split into degree students and exchange students, you will receive more info from your international coordinators.

In the afternoon you’ll meetup again with Amine and Kevan for some get to know each other games, etc. And, there will be pizza! More details TBA.

We wish all new students, buddies, and employees welcome to this year’s opening ceremony at Bjørnsonhuset.
Time: 11:00
Transport: There will be free buses from Molde Campus from 10:15. The bus is also available back to Molde Campus after the ceremony.
After the ceremony you have to meet at HiMolde for orientation meetings with your class, at 13.15. At the end of the meeting your buddies will come by the classrooms to introduce you to your buddy group. Here we go!
What does campus look like? Where is the canteen and what can you actually do at HiMolde? Join the quiz-race, hunt for points together with your buddy group, and get to know all the different student unions at HiMolde.

The evening ends with a themed party at the student bar Smuget. The theme is Mamma Mia. (Just google it).

As per the tradition the principal wants to invite all new students to a barbecue! Free food is always a banger, and good vibes are guaranteed. The food is served at 12:00 at HiMolde.

In the evening the plan is a bar crawl in the city centre where we will visit the different pubs/clubs to see what they have to offer. There will be a quizes and different tasks at each station. They also offer amazing mocktails, so there is something for everyone.

The main event this Saturday is a Stand-up show with the Norwegian comedian Rasmus Wold! Rasmus is an established comedian from, amongst other things, Latter and different TV-productions. He digs into daily observations and pet peeves, and has a weakness for bad word plays. He is also not afraid of a bit of political incorrectness. You do not want to miss this!

We’ll meet for Bingo at Glasstaket, with a view of the Molde Panorama. Here you can buy pizza, something to drink, play bingo or mini golf.

Kringstadbukta is the students’ go-to spot, so you have to join us. Come along for a chill day at the beach. We’ll play Kubb, hang out, swim (for the adventurous ones) or just take a stroll. Let’s meet at 2.00 pm.

Let’s start the day with a football tournament at Kvam football field, which buddy group has the best team? Bring good shoes, a water bottle and a maybe a bit of competitiveness?

Nothing beats the absolutely mandatory quiz that is held at Smuget every Wednesday during the school year. This is a banger of a quiz, and a guaranteed repeat during the year. Be there or be square.

The Atlantic Ocean Road is known as “the road in the ocean”, and have been featured in famous movies and tv-shows like James Bond: No Time to Die, and Succession. You cannot live in Molde without having visited The Atlantic Ocean Road – it might actually be illegal.
We have booked 2 buses that takes off from Molde Campus at 15:00. The trip is approximately 3 hours, and we’ll serve some food and drinks along the way.

“One night stand” and “den samme jævla sangen”! We’re having a concert with the legendary Vidar Villa!
And for the international students who’s a bit confused: Vidar is the most jovial artist in Norway atm. His songs might be in Norwegian, but you will have a good time either way – because you simply cannot deny the immaculate vibes in his songs.

We’ll start the day with a volleyball tournament at Idrettes hus Bring a bottle of water and clothes you can move in. If you don’t want to play, we also need people to cheer along! Meet up at 13.00.
No start to the new school year without a toga party and some roman vibes. Get yourself a white sheet, throw it on, and come to Smuget for this year’s ending to the opening week.

Lets finish what we started! Earlier this week we had a fotballtournament that didnt finish. Lets play quarter finals, semi finals and finals at 14.00 at Kvam.
MFK is inviting all students at HiMolde to a free «eliteserie» game at Aker Stadium. («Eliteserien» is Norway’s Premier League)
This is an amazing opportunity to experience one of Norway’s best football teams!
