The outdoor area here in Møre og Romsdal is incredibly idyllic when we have both sea and mountains around us! For this page, we want you to have an overview of the opportunities you have as a student in nature.

Molde

The mountain

The hiking opportunities in the area are many, and you can even start from school. In the immediate vicinity you can walk to Kringstadnakken and Mekvannet. It is also not far to the "Green Corridor" which can serve as a starting point for many trips in Moldemarka!

Moldemarka has endless hiking opportunities for all levels. Everything from an easy trip around Øverlandsvannet to a longer trip to the top of Frænaverden. You can also walk all the way from the parking lot, Jensgurilia, to the top of Tusten in the east. The possibilities are many, and the trips in Moldemarka are connected all the way. The starting point for several of the trips is Jensgurilia in Norbyen or Damefallet not far north of the city center. HiMolde is so lucky to have its own outdoor group - iFri! Among other things, they arrange several mountain hikes during the year, check them out here.

Sjekk ut Tusten sine nettsider for mer info, åpningstider og priser her.

The fjord

Explore the fjord by renting a kayak to get a completely different perspective on Molde!

In the summer it is also possible to take the trip to Hjertøya! A small, idyllic island a 10 minute boat ride from the center - see more here

In Molde, there are two beaches to enjoy the nice weather in the summer, Kringstadbukta just below Høgskolen and Retiro further east towards the airport. Both with plenty of space for swimming, sunbathing, playing and grilling!
